Quote of the Week

Remember this, Princess: There’s a golden key: You have been recognized. Your crimes were enough to put you in the dungeon, but you are not forgotten there. The King has thrown open the door and stepped in to find you. The scolding bridle of shame and guilt has been broken and destroyed. You are loved. Your worth is not determined by your deeds; it is granted by your Father. Your guilt is cleansed by forgiveness. The chains of envy can be melted away by gratitude. Your heart can be free, able to grow strong once again.
Nicole Johnson from Keeping a Princess Heart ( in a not-so fairy- tale world.)

Beth Moore

Thursday, September 2nd at 6:30 pm we are going to have a “makeup night” (no cosmetics involved, just watching a video) for our Beth Moore series *Loving Well. Many of us didn’t get to see session four, so we will be watching it at the Sharpes on the 2nd. If you missed it or want to see it again or never came to any of the session, but want to hop in for this one, feel free- the more the merrier!!

We have a daytime Beth Moore starting on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 at the church. We really felt led to focus on Jesus- who He is and what He has done for us. So, we will be doing the series, Jesus the One and Only starting Thursday September 9th. If you have questions or are interested in signing up, contact Kerrye Morrison at kerrye.morrison@cox.net. Childcare will be provided.

Ladies Who Lunch

Ladies Who Lunch is normally the first Monday of the month- but once again, that is a holiday! So, this for September, Ladies Who Lunch is Monday, September 13th at D’Novo at 61st and Yale. All ladies are invited for a fun, low calorie lunch with great people!

Preparing Your Daughter for Every Young Woman's Battle

Wednesday nights, September *15th and 22nd we will have a two night group for moms on Preparing Your Daughter for Every Young Woman’s Battle. We will watch an hour video and then have discussion time each week. This is geared for moms of girls 8-12, but I think even moms with younger and older girls will benefit from it. You can get the books on Amazon or at Mardel. Shannon offers wonderful advice on talking to your daughter about her sexuality. There are a couple of things we may not agree with in the book (we’ll talk about that!:)), but overall it is a really good book. RSVP to Janis.sharpe@lifeconnection.org. and let me know if you need childcare.

Tea in the Garden

Our Annual Tea in the Garden is Saturday, September 18th at 10:00 am. at the home of Wayne and Gail Booth 4407 S. Atlanta Ave. (1 block east of 41st and Lewis). They have a beautiful garden and graciously open it up to us for our Tea. We will be serving brunch/tea food. Ladies of all ages are invited! This is a great time to bring friends, neighbors, co-workers, daughters, mothers, etc. Gail will be sharing with us and we always have a great time of fellowship. There is no cost, but we do need people to help bring food. If you would like to help with food, set up, serving, etc. please contact Janis at Janis.sharpe@lifeconnection.org. RSVPs are always helpful, but not essential!!

WE STILL NEED SOME PEOPLE TO BRING FOOD FOR THE TEA- please email Janis at Janis.sharpe@lifeconnection.org!

Holiday Tea

Attention all designers and designer wanna-bes It’s time to start thinking about the Holiday Tea! This is a TLC tradition where we present holiday tips in October to help us plan ahead for beautiful and peaceful holidays! One of the favorite events is the Design on a Dime Challenge. We give four women white dinner plates and $25 and have them design a beautiful table for either Christmas or Thanksgiving. If you are interested in participating either in the design challenge or with Holiday ideas, please contact Janis at Janis.sharpe@lifeconnection.org.
